FAMILY PLANNING

Population stabilization strategy is enunciated in UP population policy 2000.
RCH-II program is aimed at lowering population growth by reducing Total Fertility Rate (TFR) from 3.8 to 2.8. Current TFR is 3.8 (NFHS-III).
As per NFHS-III Contraceptive Prevalence Rate (CPR) due to modern method is 29.3%, sterilization 17.5%, spacing methods 11.8%.
There has been a marginal decline in unmet need due to sterilization from 13.6% to 12.6% and in spacing methods from 11.8% to 9.3%.
The main gaps have been in the area of sterilization performance against set objectives which is declining since last 2 years.

Situational Analysis-Kanpur Nagar

In order to meet the objectives of NRHM by the end of 2012, analysis of the current status of various indicators and parameters has been done. For this purpose the basic health indicators on family welfare maternal and child health, other health determinants, which affect the health status of population in general, is being presented in this section.
