Counseling is a professional liaison that empowers diverse individuals or groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education and career goals.

NIST Counseling Service provides a blissful and pragmatic service to the young minds which nourishes them to adapt to the circumambience of the institution. Counseling service consists of Student Counselor, faculty advisor and student guides who try to ensure happiness with every student’s life to provide a safe and secure environment within the institution. Every student guide with a faculty advisor handles 10-12 first year students organizing two official meetings in a semester and innumerable unofficial meet whenever necessary. They ensure that every student overcomes the challenges and is working smoothly both in academics and extra-curricular activities. Student guide analyses each student and focuses in all round development by spreading awareness about the opportunities rendered by the college in their field of expertise.

Personal counseling is a process of self-discovery and growth. We provide personal counseling to the students to increase self-confidence, ameliorate relationships, solve problems, achieve educational goals and make good decisions for physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual well-being. We also provide individual and group counseling for personal concerns where students encounter relationship difficulties (e.g., friends, roommate and family), depression, anxiety, stress, dealing with change, fear of failure, career uncertainty, frustration and coping with feelings like loneliness, sadness, shame, anger, and guilt. Here, the Counselor act as a good listener and scrutinize all the situations carefully and confidentially to eradicate the barrier in peaceful living.
