NCZCC

North Central Zone Cultural Centre (NCZCC) is one of the seven Zonal Cultural Centres establishment in the country on the initiative of the then Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India when it first announced in 1985 to set up a ZCCs for the Northern Zone at Patiala (Punjab), and, thereafter another ZCC for the eastern region at Shantinekatan (W.B.). In the same sequence, NCZCC was established as a Society registered under the Societies Registration -1860 on 11.3.1986 with its registered office at Allahabad.
The objective of setting up of ZCCs was to cut across territorial boundaries and to reach the larger identity of cultural relationship and commonality, to provide facilities for creative development of arts and literature with special emphasis on folk and tribal arts. The Zones were, on the one hand, to emphasise separate identity of the States in their Zones, and also to bring out the cultural kinship between the States. The ZCCs were meant to lay special emphasis on people's participation and revival of vanishing arts. The emphasis was to outreach by also having cultural performances in open areas for the common people not restricted for the elitist audiences MANAGING BODIES OF THE SOCIETY
NCZCC covers seven states viz., U.P., Bihar, M.P., Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttaranchal and Delhi. His Excellency, Shri B.L JOSHI, the Governor of U.P. is the Chairman of the Centre. The Central Government has overall supervision over the Centre. The affairs of the Society are managed by two apex bodies-the Governing Body and the Executive Board with two Committees, viz., the Programme Committee and the Finance Committee, which assist the apex bodies in their functioning.The Centre has been constantly endeavouring to fulfill its objectives by carrying on its activities in accordance with the aims and objects of the Society for which it has been set up. The director of the Centre is the chief executive officer of the society. NCZCC has set up a Sub-centre in Delhi, and a Liaison-office in Lucknow.
