Naturoville is a luxurious Vedic Retreat tucked away in the foothills of Himalayas near the holy city of Haridwar. The Retreat takes its inspiration from the wisdom of ancient Indian “Rishis” (wise ascetics) of the Vedic period (1700-1100 BC).

This wisdom of the Rishis was passed on orally from one generation to the other, through a very strict Guru-Shishya Parampara (Teacher Disciple Tradition). The Guru Shishya Parampara was the corner stone of the ancient wisdom and only the most worthy disciples were made privy to this wisdom. It is still believed in India that souls that are very evolved through divine inspirations, move in search of this wisdom or achieve its source – “ when the student is ready the teacher will appear”.

After the end of the Vedic period, the Mahajanapadas (great realm) period, in turn gave way to the Maurya Empire (from ca. 320 BC). This was the golden age of classical Sanskrit literature. It is during this period that several of this Vedic wisdom was converted into written texts and immortalized for time immemorial.
