Muttar is a village in upper Kuttanad, Alappuzha district of Kerala, India. It is located 10 km west of Changanacherry, on the Kidangara Neerattupuram (Muttar Central) road, surrounded by Thalavady, Neerettupuram, Kunnamkary, Chathamkary & Mithrakary.GeographyThe River Manimala flows on the East of the village. The village has several coconut plantations and paddy fields. The paddy is cultivated about 5 ft below sea level.Places of worshipThe oldest place of worship in Muttar is the Kochukodungalloor Temple, located on the Northwest side of the village. There are 3 Parish Churches in this small village, affiliated to the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church. Muttar St Thomas church, St George Church and I C M Church. The annual parish feast of St George Church is celebrated from 29 Jan to 2nd Feb.The road through Muttar helps people to reach easily to the religious destination 'Chakulathukavu' Temple.We call it as god's own place in god's own country.SchoolsThe Govt.
