Wayanad district in the state of Kerala is abundantly blessed with fabulous natural beauty, top fertility of soil and refreshing climatic conditions. it is a bowl of nature's wonder on top of Nilgiris. Wayanad also has a great historic importance in the freedom struggle of India as well as the history of Kerala.
About Mukthi--------------
We are the pioneer de-addiction institution in Wayanad. We are situated besides the Panamaram - Pulpally Road at Nadavayal. It takes almost 22 kms from Sultan Bathery, 20 kms from Mananthavady, 25 kms from Kalpetta (via Panamaram) and 10 kms from Pulpally to reach our Centre. We have mission sub-centres across North Kerala especially in Wayanad. Each mission centre under Mukthi De-addiction ministry is managed by a full-time missionary. We concentrates not only on De-addiction but also on family counceling and charity missions. About 4300 families attended our camps so far and about 2800 families are successfully leading non-alcoholic lives (data as on august 2013).
Activities---------------
We mainly conduct 10 day de-addiction camps twice in a month. These camps comprises of De-addiction classes, debates, Q & A sessions, AA meetings, family counseling, personal counseling, yoga, singing sessions and meditation. Moreover, we organizes follow-up meetings at our mission sub-centres in association with Global Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) Organisation. Our missionaries in each centre manages the meetings in their assigned places. We also organizes Al-Anone meetings (for women), Al-Ateen camps (for children of AA members) exhibitions, social awareness programmes, family get-together, colony visits and group works.
Administration---------------
This centre was started in the year 2003 and is wholly owned by the Malankara Marthoma Syrian Church and managed by its Kunnamkulam - Malabar Diocese. The Bishop in charge of Kunnamkulam - Malabar Diocese serves as the President of Mukthi Centre and a clergy appointed by the Marthoma Church serves as the Director. The Diocesan Coordinator for De-addiction activities supervises the classes and time schedule of camps. Expert instructors and counselors leads the camp sessions here and they are appointed by the Diocese. Each of our mission sub-centres are managed by a full-time missionary appointed by the Diocese.
