More about Mothersbud

This service has started to empower women. But what do you actually mean by empowerment? Literally, it means ability and right to make our own choice. And this service actually allows women to make their own choices and earn. According to me there are three important “L’s” in the subject matter of Women’s Empowerment – Learning, Labor and Leadership.
I have heard that a girl has to go to 2 educational institutions. One is the basic school and college and the other is the society. Since women learn the most in the society. I believe that education is both an elevator and a springboard, and this service actually allows women to learn. It allows women to raise themselves up and to break down the divides that keep them apart. By education here I don’t mean the elementary education we get in school but the education women gain from the society. The more they come out of their homes, the more they face the reality.
Let me now turn to my second “L”, what comes after learning—labor. Letting women flourish and achieve their true potential in the world of work. Women represent half of the world’s population. Yet they represent far less than half of measured economic activity. And a part of women who work are often over-represented in the informal sector of the economy—unprotected, in unskilled work, with unstable earnings. Remember, women control the purse strings. They account for over 70 percent of global consumer spending. So if we want more spending and more economic growth, then we need to empower more women as agents of aggregate demand.
This brings me to my third ‘L.’ I have talked about learning and labor—the final link in the chain is leadership, letting women rise to the top on their strength of their innate abilities and talents. We also know that women are good managers and good crisis leaders. I don’t have to go anywhere else to see this. In my home itself, I accept my father is the one who works in a bank and handles the financial issues of the country but it’s my mom who takes care of the finance department of my home. And no doubts, she is the one who has actually keeps all the savings!
We have certainly made great strides towards gender equality. But while women’s foot might be in the door, they are still standing outside—in the cold. Our generation is becoming so busy in trying to prove that women can do what men can do that women are losing their uniqueness. Women weren’t created to do what men can do but to do everything a man can’t do! So here comes true empowerment where ladies sitting at home will learn, do work and lead the nation!
Concluding the whole idea we can say that, “If women dare the difference, the difference will deliver.”
