Mother Miracle School

Mother Miracle School was founded in 2002 by Shahla Ettefagh, an American citizen from San Francisco with an M.A. in Architecture and a B.A. in Sociology and Child Psychology. Formerly, she was the passionate owner of a successful interior art business in San Francisco.

During a visit to India in 1995, Shahla was so moved by seeing children living in extreme poverty that she vowed
to come back to India to dedicate her life to helping poor children and families, especially women. In 2002, she sold her house, business and personal belongings to move permanently to Rishikesh, India where she founded the Mother Miracle School.

Since 2002, Mother Miracle School grew from 9 students to 300. The vision is to increase enrollment every year by at least 20%. Each exceptional student is carefully tested and selected from thousands of applicants. We provide the highest quality education and resources in a 41,000sf state-of-the-art school building. Mother Miracle School believes if you provide the children with the best, they will deliver the best.

We've provided scholarships for our graduates to pursue higher education in India and the United States. They are studying mechanical and electrical engineering, neurosurgery, hotel management, culinary arts, master’s level business, and doctoral level zoology.

All donations are fully tax deductible in USA & India. We are a registered charitable trust and we have 501(c)(3) nonprofit in USA & tax deductable 80G, 12A in India. 100% of all donations are directly invested in our school programs.
