Morni Hills is located in Panchukla district of Haryana State, very close to Delhi. The village of Morni (also called Bhoj Jabial) is situated at a height of 1200 meters (3600 ft) on these hills, which branch off from the mountainous Shivalik Range. According to local folklore the place was once ruled by a queen called Morni, and that is how it got its name.
The cool climate and beautiful scenery attract many holiday makers from the nearby state capital of Chandigarh, which is about 45 km away. Many tourists also come from Delhi. The distance from Delhi is about 275 km and takes about 5 hours. There are many picnic spots as well as several ideal locations for adventure sport lovers. The drive up the hills to Morni from Chandigarh passes through some stunning scenic locations that offer panoramic views of the mountains and the plains. Travelers go past charming little villages, terraced hillsides cultivated with a variety of agricultural produce, and forested mountain slopes.
