JOIN HAND TOGETHER FOR BETTER MENTAL HEALTH

With the unique coalition of 25 organizations a Mental Health Alliance, “MEHA” has been formed successfully by Choithram College of Nursing Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The aim of MEHA is to secure better mental health. MEHA held its debut meeting on 15th October 2011 in Choithram College of Nursing under the guidance of Dr. Usha Ukande and by the Psychiatry department. Members from different social welfare institutions, Deaddiction centres, deaf and handicap centers, counseling centers, various educational institutions and Psychiatrists actively participated in the meeting. Based on their recommendations committee was enunciated. Members came to a consensus to set certain common objectives. The body should organize meetings and discussions in every alternate month. Various members shall decide upon the next venue after a meeting.

• Various NGOs and self machineries would be brought under one roof.
• Professionals and different NGOs working in the field of mental health would be acknowledged and their work would be discussed.
• Identify the lacunae in the field of Mental Health

VISION:

Through a coalition of organizations and professionals, MEHA proposes to work for wellness, and victory over mental illness through advocacy, awareness programs and research, for the improved care and treatment of persons with mental illness and to fight stigma and prejudice and promote social justice and recovery from mental illness.

MISSION:

Mental Health Alliance (MEHA) is dedicated to promote mental health, prevent mental and substance use conditions and achieve victory over mental illnesses and addictions through advocacy, education, research and service. Our mission is to enhance and enrich the quality of life of people by cooperating with other organizations and professionals.
