Marma Therapy

Marma Therapy is the art of treating very special vital points on the human body, rechannelise the Prana ( Vital force in the body), and is one of the greatest healing secrets of Ayurveda. The original texts on marmalogy are available in ancient texts like the Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas and Ayurveda Samhitas (Ancient Indian System of Medicine literatures) including the Sushruta Samhita, Ashtang Hridaya, Ashtang Samgrah, Charak Samhita etc, and in Tamil and Malayalam languages, in the form of both palm leaf and paper manuscripts which are thousands of years old.
The basis of Marma Science is 107 vital points in the body, which are located in anatomically defined sites viz. nerves, nerve roots, bones, muscles, ligaments,vessels and internal organs well described by Acharya Sushruta. Marma Points are also junctions where Vata, Pitta and Kapha elements meet. Each Marma has its own width, height, depth and nature and can be measured and located through measurement of one’s own body parts. It is also inherent in Variuos spontaneous human postures that we adopt in day to day life.
It can be used to detoxify the body, to strengthen and revitalize, for rejuvenation and relaxation, and to release blocked energy. Through these energy points we can stimulate the function of internal organs, strengthen self-healing power, and harmonize mind and body. It is used for treatment of various disorders as single therapy or adjunct with other medications and as curative/palliative therapy.
