Markazu Tharbiyyathil Islamiyya

Markazu Tharbiyyathil Islamiyya isa a charitable trust established in 1984 under the district committee of Samastha Kerala Jam-iyyathul ulama with a view to uplift the backward communities, especially the Muslims who we are highly backward –socially, economically and educationally. Markazu Tharbiyyathil Islamiyya which as the term itself conveys is a true centre of acculturation and civilization, was founded under the leadership of Hasrath K.K. Aboobacker Musliyar who had been there as the secretary of the trust till his last breath Sayyid Muhammedali Shihab Thangal who glorified an era with rerest of rare personality was one of the master minds behind the establishment of this great educational centre and he serves as the president of MTI since the very begining of the trust till the moment of his departure on 1st August 2009. Prof. Adrusseri Hamzakkutty Musliyar who has been a part of each and every growth and development of this immensly popular educational centre is the present general secretary of Markazu Tharbiyyathil Islamiya. The trust which started with a few institutions is at present running a number of different institutions – spiritual as well as academicals – in a single campus comprising thirty five acres of land. Markaz serves as the head quarters of Coordination of Islamic Colleges (CIC), which is an umbrella organization of more than 60 Islamic Colleges in Kerala.
