Gelato is an Italian word used for soft ice cream and frozen desserts. The history of gelato goes back to frozen desserts which were served in ancient Rome and Egypt where it was made with the help of ice and snow brought down from mountain tops and preserved below ground.

Two types of gelatos are commonly enjoyed worldwide, Milk gelato and Sorbet gelato. Milk Gelato is made with milk and almost no cream yet it has a very creamy taste, mainly because unlike ice-creams it contains no air at all. Milk gelato falls somewhere between the category of ice-cream and soft-serve. Sorbet Gelato is a frozen dessert which is made from fruits, herb flavors and contains no milk which makes it light in texture.

The story of Manolo goes back to 16th June 2007 in Copenhagen, Denmark when creamy and tempting Manolo took birth. Manolo introduced Gelato for the first time in the Nordic market where people had never tasted it before. This innovative product synchronized with the taste buds of people and it was widely accepted. Our philosophy of high quality and low fat Manolo has managed to melt hearts of people. Within a short time span of five years, Manolo has transformed into a well-known and well-loved brand.

With five outlets in five years and three more in the pipeline, Manolo is synonymous with quality, excellence and the best gelato one could ever have. Since the founder of the Manolo brand, Mr. Shahid Arif, is of Pakistani origin, he has a vision to take this product to the Asian market where he foresees a growing demand for quality gelato which will replace traditional ice cream. We are excited for Manolo’s launch in Pakistan and with great pleasure announce the first Manolo outlets were launched in The Centaurus, Islamabad’s premier mega shopping mall and our second in the busy F-11 Markaz.
