MAITRI

MAITRI stated its activities in 1997 with the aim of eradicating malnutrition from Melghat (remote forest region in Amaravati district of Maharashtra) since then Maitri volunteers are continually working for betterment of Korku tribals in Melghat. Apart from work in Melghat it works for several other causes like environment education, HIV/AIDS awareness, and in emergencies.

MAITRI is registered as 'Trust' in 1999 under Public Trust Act. The trust acts as a custodian and umbrella support for all the activities in terms of help to raise and management of funds, training, building awareness, administration and general management of the resources. But the real drive and force of MAITRI is its VOLUNTEERS who provide the distinct character to the organization.
