As it is known to all that education is the corner stone of the development.
Children are the future of the development of human resources of a country.
Today, there are more than 15 lakhs schools, 40 school boards of exams in our
country but the structure is different at the grass root level. Especially
government schools, where about 65% children of the country go to acquire
education, are in worst condition. There is a lack of quality education. There is
no change in the condition despite the number of government schemes. On the
other hand, the costly education of private schools is not affordable by all.
Therefore, the inequality is spreading its wings in the society.
There are legislations about Inequality, Liberty, Justice and Fraternity in
the constitution of India but without education all these are useless or
worthless. There is Right to Education Act, 2009, as Fundamental Right in
Amendment 21 ‘A’ but no improvement in the situation.
If we take a brief glimpse on the reports of the governmental or
nongovernmental organizations, such as, National Achievement Survey of
NCERT, PISA, Annual State Education Report (ASER), they all clarify that
there is a deterioration in reading, writing, and understanding level of the
children. The other problem is of dropout the school after enrollment.
Thus, we, the students of M. A. Social Work(previous year) from Banaras
Hindu University, with keeping in mind our social duty, will try to make an
effort in the development of children and government schools through adoption.
We will work on the enrollment of children of that area in which the school
is situated, attendances, quality education, sports and the development of all
aspects of the personality of children.
Thus, we, the students, are together starting an organization named as
“Mahamana Maitri Mission”which will prominently aim at the development
of children, their education and different aspects of their personality.
Objectives of Mahamana Maitri Mission
To strengthen the existing government schools through assistance with
available resources.
To analyse the enrolment and attendances of children enrolled and if a
deviation is found then to figure out the reason.
To counsel those children, and their families, who are not attending the
school after their enrolment and finally to get them back to the school.
To ensure that more and more enrolment can be possible.
To provide assistance in teaching in some of existing schools with
inadequate teacher strength.
To make an effort to provide quality elementary education including life
skills with a special focus on the education of girls and children with
special need as well as computer education.
To provide facilities for extra co curriculum activities like, sports,
creative writing, paintings, music etc.
To focus on the overall development of the personality of the children as
well as of the schools.
Group composition
Initially, our group consists of students of M.A. Social Work (previous year).
