When Rajashekargouda G Patil launched RG Patil &Co at Byadgi, a small town in Haveri district of Karnataka in 1960, the chilli products had many challenges of processing and preservation. It was RGP that began to employ the most modern techniques and de-stemming to keep Byadgi’s pristine purity and palate. Today ,the Byadgi chilli has conquered the world for its deep red colour and lower pungency that add an appealing hue and aroma to the dishes.

Today, grown beyond belief on the goodwill of millions of our customers, RGP has emerged a winner in all red chilli products. Ours is the only company with two cold storage of our own and has integrated into its work culture the best production standard in the industry. All these enable us to supply chillies in the shortest time possible throughout the year. Further we also have an in-house laboratory where we can measure colour, moisture and other parameters.

Byadgi is the second largest chilli market in INDIA and the largest market of Byadgi chilli (paprika) in India.RGP is the only company in Byadgi market which started the process of de-stemming to provide better service to the customers.

We even started production of IPM (Integrated Pest Management) chilli. With the help of many farmers we started this process to meet the demand of European countries. IPM chilli consists of negligible use of pesticide. IPM chillies are grown in very conditioned manner so that pesticide content should not exist. With the installation of advanced machineries in our grinding unit, we provide better grinding service to our customers. Our grinding unit is the 2nd unit in Byadgi with highly efficient and quality machineries.

As the Byadgi market started growing the company started cultivating varieties of chilli in its farms to ensure that raw materials to the final products have the stamp of RGP. In the year 2005 the company constructed Shree Marulashiddeshwara Cold Storage Pvt Ltd to store our products and to maintain quality while storing the products and in the year 2007 the company constructed one more advanced cold storage RGP Cold Storage Pvt Ltd to maintain huge inventory.

In 2011 established new grinding unit. Our grinding unit is one of the best units in Byadgi. Machines are bought from one of the leading manufacturers in India which are highly efficient and quality products.
