Kottappadi Football Stadium, Malappuram

Down Hill (Kottappadi) Stadium is a historic football stadium owned by Malappuram Sports Council located right at the heart of the CBD of Malappuram.
The history of the stadium dates back to pre-independence / british era of India. Being one of the early places where football took its root, Malappuram is unequivocally considered to be the cradle of Indian football and this stadium owns much of its credit. Kottappadi stadium / KavathParamabu as known in old times has contributed so many brilliant players to the mainstream football teams in the nation. Currently KBFC Coaching center is stationed here. ITs the home ground of Malappuram FC as well.
