We present, Kitab Khana a boutique bookshop in the heart of Mumbai. At Kitab Khana we aim to offer books from the contemporary to the classics, in English, Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi. The books at Kitab Khana have been selected and curated by a relevant advisory panel.

Kitab Khana is unique and a frontrunner for the best independent bookshop award without a doubt. Housed in a heritage structure almost 150 years old the atmosphere is worlds away from the noisy hustle of the city’s big book chains. In an ambience that blends the old world charm of Lost in the Bookland with wafting smells of coffee, a range that posits Paul Coelho against Bhagavat Puranam, Ibsen’s plays to Manto’s acerbic angst, a platform that encourages all creative pursuits from writing to painting to music.

With bright orange, pink and blue shelves, the children’s section at Kitab Khana is an inviting place where children can re-discover the wonderful world of books we have created an exciting and free atmosphere for children and parents. Quirky bean bags invite children to comfortably sink into them, allowing them to immerse themselves in the books and thereby helping them to dive deep into the depths of their imagination.
