Kendriya Vidyalaya IIT Kharagpur

Nestled within the lush green campus of IIT Kharagpur, this Kendriya Vidyalaya caters mainly to the educational requirements of the wards of the staff of IIT Kharagpur.

The Vidyalaya was established in 1967 and currently has about 1700 children on its roll. It has 3 sections from Class I to V and 4 sections from VI to X and again 3 sections from Class XI to XII. One section is there in Humanities and Two sections are in Science stream.

There is a library housing about 10,000 books. There are complete laboratories like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Junior Science Lab and 3 Computer Laboratories.

There are two Volleyball courts, one Basketball court, two Badminton courts, and one Kho-Kho, Foot ball & Kabadi field. In addition there is a children's park exclusively for the children of primary classes.

Playway method or activity oriented teaching is adopted in Primary classes. In primary classes grading system is followed.

There is a team of dedicated and devoted teachers who are at all times tuning and guiding the pupils towards their success.

Every year the Vidyalaya produces many scholars who enter into IITs and other prestigious engineering & medical colleges in India.
