Keeping in mind with noble gesture, the Amreli Jilla Vidhyasabha as a registered trust and society came in to existence under the president ship, The First Chief Minister of Gujarat Dr. Jivraj N. Mehta with the objectives of promoting higher education in this region.

The trust has an academic campus of 105 acres of land.

Kamani Science College was established in 1962 with 90 students. It imparts degree level courses like, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Zoology and Computer Applications (Vocational). The catchments area of the college is the entire Amreli district and neighbuoring sub division of other districts.
