Kalibari than' Jalikhata, Pathsala

The “Kalibari than' “ is situated at Jalikhata village in the Bajali area of Pathsala township. The specialty of this holy place is basically for the banyan tree under which the than (temple) is located. The banyan tree is spreading over four bighas of land, which is believed to be one of the largest in the Asian subcontinent on the bank of Kaldia river at Jalikhata of Barpeta district, nearly three kms from Pathsala town, has turned into a spot of attraction for nature lovers, students and religious-minded people, who throng the area throughout the year and remains a symbol of love of the local people for conservation.
