Kalibari Sporting Club

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:

Way before 1960 THE KALIBARI SPORTING CLUB was famously known as THE PALLY UNNAYAN SAMITY. In those days it was mainly the Durga puja & Football playground of the local boys. In the year 1961 some local players (also member of Puja committee), most of them being friends, while playing football decided to form a club. This is how KALIBARI SPORTING CLUB was born in 1961.

With the formation of the club, they decided to start the Durga Puja in the locality. Thereafter for many years, the Durga Puja as well as the sports activities round the year continued and many new members were inducted.

In 2012, Senior members of our Club planned of constructing a concrete big pleasant club house cum Durga Temple (Durga Mondop) with the financial help from Local citizen.

Eventually, the Clubroom and Huge Durga Mondop (25m x 15 m) was constructed.

In 2012 We started puja in our Club own Temple (Under Duttapukur Durgabari Trust) which became popular in few days in locality.
