Kaginele

Kaginele also known as "Kaginelli" is a village in the Byadagi taluk of Haveri district in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is best known as the birthplace of Kanaka Dasa, a great saint from the Kuruba Gowda (Halumatha) community. He lived and wrote most of his works in Kaginele. The "Keshava"(Krishna) temple is situated in Kaginele. Keshava was the family deity of Shri Kanaka Dasa. All of Kanaka Dasas poems end with the "Ankitha Naama" Kaginele and Keshava. In August 2004, the Karnataka State Government decided to form the Kaginele Development Authority (KDA) to protect all the monuments and the documents related to Kanaka Dasa.Shri. Kanakadas Kaginele guru Aadikeshava Gurupeetha was established as a spiritual and cultural center of Halumatha community in the state of Karnataka, India. The Mahasamsthana was started by Shri Beerendra Keshava Tarakananda Puri Swamiji, whose hard work developed this Shri. Kanakadas Kaginele continued for thirteen years. This Kaginele Shri. Beerrendra Keshava Tarakananda Puri Swamy was the first guru to start developing this Kaginele Shri. Kanakadas Kshetra, giving spiritual and devotional lessons after studying Kanakadas's history. This incorporated his devotional poems, spiritual thinking, and way of living. Shri. Guru Beerendra Keshava Swami Ji had the intention to start schools for the poor and rural Halumath community children in Kaginele and develop Kaginele in order to provide education for poor children in rural regions. Shri. Beerendra Swamiji organized a function in 2005, where people from all over Karnataka were able to share in his vision of developing Kaginele as a Maha Samstana. The result of this function resulted in the Shri. Kanakadas Kaginele Kshetra spiritual and devotional center plus an education institute for rural poor children. After Shri. Beerendra Swami Ji had moksha, Shri. Neeranjananda Puri Swami Ji took over Kaginele Maha Samstan, Baada Village, Haveri district, Karnataka, India. Shri. Neeranjananda Puri Swami Ji further developed Kaginele kshetra by improving many facilities. Also, Neeranjanda swamiji has built Belludi Kaginele shakha mutt in HARIHAR taluka, Davanagere district to help poor people from HARIHAR and around this taluka regions.
