A community brand co-created with women entrepreneurs of Bajana village, Surendranagar.
This initiative is taken by Manthan Educational Programme Society, India under project “Design with Science & Technology Applications for Rural Development” supported by DST, Government of India.
The women group was trained to make handcrafted jewelry from textile waste. Innovative designs were co-evolved with the community members. The products which they made were Pom Pom Earrings, Potli Button Earrings, Gotta Pendant and Hand Embroidered Pendant, with Piping or Braided strings, Assembly of different earrings and neck pieces on base structures, etc.
We plan to initiate this project into a brand which can sustain itself.
