Jaygaon - जायगाव

Village near Aundh in Khatav Taluka of Satara district. Gram panchayat was established in 1952, formerly it was part of Princely syate of Aundh before independence.
It is famous for potato cultivation and temple of Janubai devi. Recently it has become a hotbed for wind energy due to presence of hills along three sides of the village.
Main occupation of people in farming followed by paint works in mumbai and other cities in Maharashtra and India. Many server in Indian Armed forces and various government jobs.
Due to limited opportunities in farming as no irrigation is available village has faced lot of migration towards cities.
All villagers participate very actively in annual fair(Yatra) which happens in summer on day of Vaishakh Pournima a full moon day in month of May.
Village has long tradition of wrestling and though participation is declining tradition is still living on.
