ISTE NITC Students' Chapter

It is commonly known that the forte of any engineering college is its depth in its technical acumen. In NITC, ISTE is one such organization that is the sole contributor to this cause. Controlled from its Headquarters in Delhi, ISTE is linked in all colleges throughout India including the premier IITs. This enables communication between the various chapters which bolsters the spirit of events held in any of these colleges. ISTE has a wide range of activities, designed to test individuals on various fronts, both theoretical and practical. Due to its insatiable interest into the realms of technology, ISTE enjoys the full backing of the faculty, administration and the students.

ISTE has achieved many milestones, one of the biggest being the introduction and distribution of its well-known newsletter, the INQUISITE. This is the first ever newsletter to be introduced into NITC, featuring marvels, controversies, and FAQs from the various fields of technology. True to its name, it foresees some of the hottest upcoming technologies which could indeed bring about a second Industrial Revolution. To top it all, it also features humorous anecdotes and toons which tickles our readers and keeps them engrossed.

The other feathers in our cap include having our very own scholarship. Named after our famous former president, the Abdul Kalam Scholarship is a layered filtration process where individuals are tested not only on their technical front, but also on their communication and aptitude fronts as well, facing tests, group discussions and interviews to help us extract the few lucky candidates who possess the near-perfect blend of the these abilities who are then rewarded suitably.

But coming to the crown jewels of our organization, ISTE hosts one very major event, Spectrum. Spectrum is an inter-batch competition, where first-years lock horns with each other as they are put to a battery of technical challenges as they compete to achieve the ultimate prize, the Spectrum trophy. The atmosphere that surrounds the various venues of these challenges is one that cannot be expressed but only experienced.

These are some of the many events that we host at NITC, the others being guest lectures from IITs and IIM alumni and ARBITT tests which delve deep into enigmatic topics like paradoxes, cryptography, etc. All in all, it is due to the interest of the various individuals in our events which helps us to stay among the elite clubs of NITC.
