More about Ismail Shariff

Ismail Shariff, an avid wildlife photographer, runs the only fine art printing studio in Hyderabad - which goes by the name IMPRIMA-to print.

A student of The Hyderabad Public School, this Computer Science Engineer went on to do his Masters in Central European University Business School, Budapest. This is where he picked up his first camera - in the year 2002, and he has been shooting ever since. His interest for bird photography was initiated when he first happened to visit ICRISAT with the Birdwatchers Society of Andhra Pradesh and a trip to Kanha National Park hooked him on to the Tigers. He has travelled extensively to most national parks of India in search of the big cats, with Tadoba being one of his most favourite hot-spot for Tigers and Kabini, for Leopards. His experiences from the wild are a treat to listen to and makes one want to visit one of those national parks and Tiger sanctuaries.
His love for nature and the wildlife, which is obvious through his pictures, is not only a huge passion - he uses it as a media to create awareness in conserving nature. His images of the wild also show a different perspective to things. He tries to depict his subjects in a way that convey something of beauty and behaviour to the people he reaches with his photographs. Ismail was also assigned to shoot the Indian leg of Volvo Ocean Race 2008-2009 at Cochin. The Volvo Ocean Race is the world's pre-eminent round-the-world yacht race and one of the most coveted prizes in the sport, managed by headquarters of Volvo in Alicante, Spain.

In the month of July this year, Ismail's 'Flight of the Tiger' image of a butterfly Common Tiger (Danaus genutia), was chosen as the cover photo for Canon Imaging Asia.
He is slated to display his wildlife photography work in an international gallery in Budapest in June 2014.

Ismail has an intense love for the photographic image, an eye for composition and artistic expression, and also an unwavering support of the medium of photography.
