In 1890, Father .Victor Verleure has mailed a letter from Mulagumoodu to Sister.Marie Louise in Belgium. He penned in the letter about the necessity of her service to the Infant Jesus orphanage which was a part of his mission. Father Victor’s mission was started from 1861 in Mulagumoodu. Sr.Marie Louise decided to do her service in Mulagumoodu.
It was on November 7, 1897, which brought a new dawn to Mulagumoodu, when Sr.Marie Louise landed on the ground.Sr.Marie Ursule also accompanied her. As they reached the grounds of the mission, a little girl gave to Sr.Marie Louise the keys of the orphanage. She called her ‘periammal’ means great mother, and they all repeated ‘periammal’. The sisters bowed their head with caring smile. Soon after, they had started their mission without any rest or break. They walked along the people to the parish church for the solemn of mass of thanks giving.
