More about Bright Society for Youth

Bright Society for Youth (BSY) is a social enterprise that works in partnership with various organizations in order to craft community change. It was established in 2016 by a group of young students and professionals and aims at bringing youth empowerment in the country.

The United Nations General Assembly on 17th December 1999 in resolution A/RES/54/120/ of the 54th UN session endorsed the recommendation made by the 1st World Conference of Ministers responsible for the Youth (Lisbon 8th- 12th/ 1989) that the 12th of
August be declared as “International Youth Day”. It was found that, out of the world’s total population, 50% are under the age of 25 and 90% live in developing countries. According to a UN report, India has the world's largest youth population and is set to become the world’s youngest country by 2020.

The UN identifies the following 5 domains that concern the youth of developing countries:

1. Education

2. Employment

3. Hunger and Poverty.

4. Health

5. HIV-AIDS

Based on this identification, IISY follows a three-step approach for achieving its aim of youth empowerment. It brings together aspiring young leaders from across the world. It engages them in challenging activities. And finally, aims towards the development of various skills.

By critically enhancing their awareness, these individuals are able to bring about necessary changes in their community.

Aims & Objectives
1. To unite young and creative minds across the globe on one platform to understand and explore different mindsets in a common language.
2. To understand the critical importance of meaningful youth participation in leadership contexts through discussions, activities, and forums.
3. To understand the views of young people in relation to decision-making skills, organizing things, as well as implementation and planning.
4. To promote global exchange of ideas, challenges, and strategies related to the transformation of global leaders through dynamic participation.
5. To ensure global co-operation in enhancing the quality and standards of world education.
6. To empower the youth and assist them in becoming agents of change for a better, just and equal society.
7. To build cultural crossroads between the youth of different nations and promote understanding and sensitivity amongst the diverse societies of the world.
