India Centre for Migration was set up in July, 2008 as a Registered Society and functions as a research think-tank of Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on all matters relating to ‘International Migration’. The Centre also undertakes empirical, analytical and policy related research, and implements pilot projects to document good practices on international migration. The research outputs of the Centre support informed policy making of the Ministry and enable its strategic interventions for a coherent and harmonized response to the transnational movement of people from India.
