IGIT Sarang

The Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT) is located at Sarang in the industrial belt of Talcher. It was established in 1982 by the government of Orissa. In addition to four year Undergraduate degrees in electrical, mechanical, chemical, civil engineering, metallurgical & materials science, computer science, and electronics and telecommunication, it offers three year Diploma courses in a few technical disciplines and a 3- year postgraduate degree in computer applications. The college has 172 acres (0.70 km2) of land and it is situated nearby Brahmani River. It is considered among the best Engineering colleges in odisha and eastern India. It is immensely popular and highly sought after college in the state.

The institute is accredited by NBA, and is affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology(BPUT) and State Council for Technical Education & Vocational Training(SCTE & VT).
