ICAR-Directorate of Rapeseed-Mustard Research

Rapseed-mustard is the important oilseed crop of the third largest producer of rapeseed-mustard after China and Canada.rapeseed-mustard os one of the second largest oilseed crops in India.the crop is grown in the almost 24 states for domestic use as well as commercial purposes.
Realizing the importance of rapeseed-mustard in the country,Indian council of agriculture research(ICAR) established the national research centre on rapeseed-mustard(NRCRM) on October20,1993 at the site of an adaptive trial centre,government of Rajasthan,and located at sewar,Bharatpur to carry out basic,strategic and applied research.in February 2009,the ICAR re-designated NRCRM as the directorate of rapeseed mustard research(DRMR).to augment the production and productivity of rapeseed-mustard across the country,the all India co-ordinated research project on rapeseed-mustard(AICRPRM) with 11 main,12 sub and 22 verification centers was also brought under its umbrella.The DRMR functions as a falcrum to support the production system research for rapeseed(Brown sarson,yellow sarson,toria,taramira,gobhi sarson) and mustard (black mustard,Ethiopian mustard and Indian mustard) group of crops creating desired research and service & support units...jai kishan
