Hybrutos Racing, the Official Formula Hybrid team of S.R.M University, Chennai,India is developing a Parallel Hybrid-Electric Formula race car(that would run on fuel as well as from batteries) to showcase our concern towards efficient, emission less cars for a cleaner future. Our university holds a position of prestige and repute in world with accreditation from ABET USA and Bosh Center of Automotive Excellence duly guided and appreciated by honorable Prime minister of India Shri Narendra Modi.

SAE International in association with IEEE and Thayer School of Engineering, Dartmouth, USA is organizing FORMULA HYBRID competition where racing enthusiasts gather from various universities all over the world to represent their car.

Hybrutos Racing is the " Third team from Asia" which took part in FORMULA HYBRID competition held in 2016 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, USA .The competition attracts personnel from reputed companies associated with “Sustainable mobility”. The event is being designed and scrutinized in such a way that the basic frameworks is as per the International Standards of safety and compliance for EV’s/HEV’s and is also the goldmine for the companies to get exposed to the R&D and innovations from the teams on their state of art vehicles to ensure optimum performance on track.

OUR POWERTRAIN AND DRIVETRAIN FEATURES

Our car is rear wheel drive single seater formula style hybrid electric car. It is a mixed hybrid design which will be one of its kind in INDIA with a hybrid electric powetrain consisting of racing high power 2 x pmdc motors(16kw continuous power each) along with a 250cc bike engine accompanied with a custom manufactured inlet , exhaust and cooling system. Custom developed hybrid drive- train final drive which is chain coupled with a limited slip differential .
