With the aim to promote education, in 1942 some social workers and few small business men under the leadership of Babu Goverdhan Das founded Hindi High School at Zamania. Latter on it become an Intermediate College. Then in 1956, the Hindu Degree College was established which got its affiliation from Gorakhpur University in the year 1957. There was a local procedure for science faculty which also got affiliated in 1965.

The arts faculty of the college includes Hindi, English, Sanskrit, History, Political Science, Economics, Psychology, Geography, Sociology and Philosophy. The Science faculty includes Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. At the post graduation lavel the class of Geography, Hindi and Economics run.
