Himalayan Free Church of India, Sukhia Pokhri, Darjeeling.

Himalayan Free Church of India, a glorious organization found for the vision of spreading the Kingdom of God throughout the region of Himalayan, among the different tribes of Himalayan region. In the year 1895, the first missionaries from FINLAND came here with a vision of TIBET. They stayed here, served our Himalayan people and the help to know the Christ savior and preached the Good news of Salavation through Christ to our ancestors.
Through the vision from God they were continually served the people of Himalayan region, without any deviation. Their main motto was "LOOK TO JESUS".
While serving the region of Himalayan (Darjeeling district, Sikkim and Terai region), some of them laid their life.

Here the details of the Finland missionaries, who laid down their life while walking with Vision for Himalayan people, as well as Tibet:

Arrived in India: 1899. Place of work: Ringim, Sikkim.
Death: 1/April/1905. Buried in Ghoom.
3. Mrs. Anna Massinenowen-
Arrived in India: 1809. Place of work: Lachen.
Death: 28/April/1920. Buried in Lachen.
4. Mr. Arnold Hyttiw-
Arrived in India: 1938. Place of work: Chunabhatti.
Death: 12/Oct. /1948. Buried in Chunabhatti.
5. Mrs. Margart Lewson Doig-
Arrived in India: 1930. Place of work: Lachen, Lachun & Kalimpong.
Death: 8/June/1950. Buried in Kalimpong.
6. Rev. Arthur Rylkkanen-
Arrived in India:1938. Place of work: Chunabhatti & Mangan.
Death: 15/Sep. /1950. Buried in Lachung Landslide (Body not found).
7. Ms. Klaara Hertz-
Arrived in India:1896. Place of work: Ghoom, Lachen.
Death: 9/April/1920. Buried in Lachen.
8. Ms. Elly Peterson-
Arrived in India: 1920. Place of work: Lachen.
Death:5/May/1922. Buried in Lachen.
9. Ms. Ellin Kronquist-
Arrived in India: 1905. Place of work: Lachen, Lachung & Mangan.
Death: 20/Nov. / 1939. Buried in Lachen.

From these dedication and sacrifices, as a result, The glorious organization Himalayan Free Church is formed.
As far as the Himalayan Free Church of India is concerns, its a major Church of HFCI, which is running from the year 1981 (establishment). From the beginning of journey, HFCI Sukhia Pokhri guided by the powerful and mighty hand of Our Lord Savior till present days. The precious dedication of our former and present dear Pastors, Leaders and coworkers, the HFCI Sukhia stands properly till today for God's Kingdom.
The Church spreading the Kingdom of God in this region without any delay and deviation. The Church is dedicated towards the Great Commission of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our Vision is:
1. Evangelism.
2. Be a helping hand for needy one.
3. Lets feel to others, the LOVE OF GOD.
Towards this vision we are continually working through different ways.
