Hill View Welfare Association (HVWA, Regd No. 36/ 2008-09) , Sahastradhara Road, Dehradun is the welfare society of Hill View Apartments.

Sahastradhara road, recognized in Dehradun since the early nineties due to its tourism attractions, has recently faced rapid development. New schools, institutions, residential apartments, malls, restaurants and colonies have developed in the vicinity, servicing to a daily population of approximately 20,000 people of Dehradun.

HVWA stands against the illegal dumping of garbage/ wastes at the trenching ground situated at Sahastradhara Road by the Nagar Nigam, Dehradun which is hazardous to the health of residents living in the vicinity and the other population availing the daily services at Sahastradhara Road. The association is encouraging the participation of all the people in peaceful demonstrations at Sahastradhara road to tackle the non-compliance of the honorable Supreme Court orders.

An order has been passed by the honorable Supreme Court on 07/05/2014 against Nagar Nigam, Dehradun to remove the trenching ground located at Sahastradhara road and construct a park in its place. The trenching ground needs to be shifted to Sisambara. The time allotted for the same was upto 07/05/2016 (2 years). All authorities have been approached to implement the honorable Supreme Court orders, but no response has been received from any authority. During this period, Sahastradhara road trenching ground continues to receive the daily garbage/ wastes of the whole Dehradun city and is developing into a polluted area, facing the daily traffic of Nagar Nigam trucks, overflowing garbage on the connecting roads, infested by flies and harmful insects and the pollution due to regular fires in the dumping grounds.
