Hajiwala is a village located in district of Gujrat, Pakistan. It is located 45 kilometers away in the east from Gujrat.And one of the largest village by its area and population in district gujrat and by some ideas in province of punjab containing up to 35 mosques. With a population of up to 28000 people.The Phenomenal Thing Of This Village Is That Villagers Of Hajiwala Can Be Found In USA, Saudí Arabia, UAE And Almost Every European Country Which Most of them are in Italy,Spain,Greece,England,Norway Belgium,France and some numbers are in Germany.Economy of the village mainly depends on the agriculture, however, as the literacy rated is growing, people are joining other professions as well like Army, Police, Teaching, medicine etc.Hajiwala has one Government Dispensary(Basic health unit), one High School for boys and one for Girls. There are many private schools as well in the village with classes up to intermediate level. Medium of instruction for many private school/colleges is English. A number of Montessori/Kindergarten schools are also working. unlike other neighboring villages, number of School going girls is increasing and parents normally encourage their daughters to pursue higher studies.Two famous things of this village are "Mela hajiwala" an annual cultural festival which held every year on 25th of January. and "milaad sharif"All villagers decorate every Street beautifully on this occasion of Milad Sharif. People from village much more decent, educated and peacefull and loving.HistoryIt is believed that Hajiwala village was named after Sufi saint Haji Suleman who preached Islam in Hajiwala for a long time and many non Muslims embraced Islam on his hand. When his time was near, he advised his disciples (Mureedin) to bury his body in Saidpur village now in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
