Guru Angad Dev Educational and Welfare Council, Ludhiana

Guru Angad Dev Ji always emphasized the importance of education. Keeping in view the universal application of this message, the Guru Angad Dev Educational and Welfare Council was formed as a non-profit charitable organization. The Society is dedicated for education and welfare of downtrodden and needy people. Our Society is working towards the upliftment of the weaker section of the society.

Guru Angad Dev Educational and Welfare Council is located in the slum area Preet Nagar, Ludhiana in Punjab. The Area of Preet Nagar is mainly inhabited by labourers, daily wage earners who are uneducated and poor. They are descendants of former locksmiths and ironsmiths. The area suffers from the stigma of child labour, acute poverty, domestic violence, drug addiction, unemployment and under-employment. The main cause of all the social evil is the low literacy rate amongst people.

To make a difference in the lives of the people living in these slums and around, guru angad dev educational and welfare council was formed with the object of providing education to underprivileged children, adults, rehabilitaion of drug addicts, setting up a facility for vocational training for unemployed youth, housewives and windows.
