Late Sri I.Koteswara Gupta, popularly known as I.K. Gupta, born on 23-05-1909 at Ongole, has started his career as an employee in C C Reddy & Co, a Tax consulting firm, at Bapatla, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, and later started Tax Consultancy profession, independently on 30-05-1932. With his sincerity, knowledge and dedication to the work, he has established a wide range of clientele. He has earned good confidence and goodwill from the clientele in and around Prakasam and Guntur Districts. He was the President of Tax bar Association, Bapatla and Ongole, for a very long time and he was also a member of Vigilance Committee of Bapatla Police Station during the year 1955. He is the founder of GUPTHAS group of firms and breathed his last on 13-04-1987

In the year, 1967 his son Sri I. Raghu Kumar, B.com, B.L, born on 01-11-1946, an Advocate, entered into tax consultancy profession on 20-05-1967, under the name and style of GUPTA & Co. Later, Sri M. Kameswara Rao, F.C.A, a Chartered accountant, has also joined the unit in the year 1978. They both together carried the profession to the next level, and further established office at Ongole, in the year 1978, which has attained utmost goodwill and reputation among all the sections of the society.

In 1995, the grand children of the erstwhile late, Sri I. Koteswara Gupta has established an unit with an object of business in construction of apartments, villas, commercial complexes, under the name and style of GUPTHAS CONSTRUCTIONS COMPANY at Ongole. The unit is among the first of its kind in this line of activity in Ongole and attained enormous goodwill in the society, with regarding the assurance and quality of constructions.
