Gunijan Sabha

Ustad Imamuddin Khan Dagar Indian Music Art & Culture Society (www.dagars.org) is exclusively dedicated in preserving & promoting Indian Classical Music & Arts. Since its inception in 1978, the society has organized many classical concerts & lecture cum demonstrations like Malhar Utsav, All India Rudra Veena Festival, Royal Tradition, Little Wonder Contest on AIR, Rang Utsav, Old Instrument Exhibitions etc. In 2010, it successfully opened The Dagar Archives, the first archives exclusively dedicated to showcasing the history of the Dagar family’s musical heritage at Rabindra Manch (National Head Office) in Jaipur.

THE GUNIJAN SABHA

Gunijan Sabha is an initiative under the society’s aegis; which brings alive an ancient Indian tradition of organizing enriching interactions with maestros. Gunijan Sabha is a platform to encourage and patronize various Indian art forms through sabhas (small gatherings) where the ‘Gunijan’ (artist/maestro) displays intricacies of his/her art through lec-dems; so that it can be perceived and comprehended in-depth by the masses.
