Gujarat National Law University

Gujarat National Law University is a National Law University established under the Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003" in the state of Gujarat. Regarded as one of the most prestigious law universities in India, the university is located at Gandhinagar, which is the capital of Gujarat and is located 7 kilometers north of the city of Ahmedabad. The statute provides that the Chief Justice of India or a Senior Supreme Court Judge serve as the Visitor of the university. The Director, Bimal N. Patel, an internationally acclaimed scholar and International civil servant serves as the chief administrator. The university started in 2004 and has five batches of 180 students each under training.HistoryGNLU was formed in the year 2003 by the efforts of the then Solicitor General of India, Kirit Raval, the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi and the Bar Council of India.
