Gtu Innovation Council

This is the official FB account of GTU Innovation council. The effort by young Techies at GTU won the prestigious World Education Summit award in 2011 within 8 month of the inception of the GTU Innovation Council for its unique work in bridging the gap between industry-academia and innovation. The students are the top most priority in the innovation agenda and the ecosystem is being nurtured like a leaderless movement but with certain distinct vision. To respond the call of Honourable President of India for making 2010-2020 as decade of innovation for India, Innovation Council has been unique in the country in making efforts where each single student, faculty and other stake holders are considered as individual institutions and not just mere individual. The current shape and strategies at GTU Innovation council has been developed by young techies at GTU Colleges and Techpedia. Each single student and faculty is being considered as brand ambassador of this movement .Though GTU Innovation Council’s first objective is to nurture creativity and innovation within the University community; it has been designed to act as a catalyst of change for the whole of the society.GTU Innovation Council has set up 25 GTU Innovation Sankuls, which are regional communities of GTU educational institutions and the industries in the region. GTU Innovation Council is working to make the GTU community, and the whole of the society, innovative. GTU Innovation Council and Techpedia have helped students undertake Shodh Yatras in MSMEs for the purpose of picking up an Industry Defined Problems (IDPs), which may be used as the topic for the Final Year Project. 50,010 GTU students visited about 8,000 industries to pick up about 16,000 IDPs. Now we are setting up 44 GTU Sectoral Innovation Councils in specific areas of technology. The council and Techpedia will help the students, faculties in IPR/Patenting/Technology transfer and innovation management process most frugally. It is nurturing young budding techies to shape up for new generation entrepreneurs and create more skill based jobs for the entire world. Honourable VC, GTU, Dr. Akshai Agarwal is the Chairman of the Innovation Council and Mr Hiranmay Mahanta acts as the Honorary Director of it on behalf of Techpedia and Innovation Sankuls.
