Who We Are

Green Yatra is a Non-Governmental Charity (NGO), actively dedicated to Protection and Conservation of Mother Nature and Humanity. The organisation is registered and associated with Assistant Charity commissioner – Thane Region, Planning Commission - Government of India, United Nation and tax exempted u/s 80G of the Income Tax Act. We strive to maintain the integrity of the ecosystem for the benefit of all living creatures by introducing and adopting simple green lifestyle, eco-friendly ideas in our daily lives.

Green Yatra was started in 2009 and being run by individuals who share a strong love and passion for protecting and respecting our only source of life-Mother Nature. We believe in ACTION by doing as much as we can to preserve our environment and humanity. Sitting idly, complaining, blaming the system, societies, or commenting on internet forums are THINGS WE DO NOT DO. We believe that by working logically, strategically, and practically with prevention and solution oriented approaches is the only way to reach our goal of nature Protection and Conservation. The impact and success of our initiatives are a token of our dedication and hard work. Our main objectives has always been to leave the world better than we found it so we are working sincerely with devotion toward bringing out the VALUE of our nature, hoping for your complete support.

What We Do

We work with individuals to make a change on a mass level and take pride in being a stand-alone platform, where several parties can join in this revolutionary movement. So if you are a householder, a corporate house, an educational or non-educational institution, a social group, an NGO, a social entrepreneur, or simply a person who is interested in on-going environmental work, Green Yatra is the place for you! Our mission is to assist in solving environmental problems and promote cooperation among similar groups and people by supporting the free exchange of information and public participation in environmental decision making. We aim to be involved in and perform all such acts that may assist in or are conducive to fostering environmental education, protection, and security. We are mainly concerned with generating mass awareness and deepening of national and international public debate on environmental issues. We are involved in mobilizing local communities via high-pitched campaigns and projects such as Child Education- Ek Zaroorat, Go GREEN Kids, Zaroorat - A Need, Green Youth, Green India, Plant a Tree, Plant a New Life …..We will do it for You, Green Societies, Green Earth. Go GREEN Ganesha. One of our key goals is to educate the people on various sources of pollution and its adverse impact and show how we can all strive to be greener in our daily lives.

Green Yatra sees its role in creating awareness among people by recognizing their personal impact on global warming and promoting activities that support this goal. In this endeavour, we look forward to working with all interested citizens of India, the World, and anyone who can help in any form such as through volunteers, resource persons, financial sponsors, or networking agents.

Our Projects:

1. ZAROORAT - A NEED
“Because your old stuff can be someone’s new gift”

Zaroorat- A Need: It works on a premise that one man’s waste can be another man’s richness. The main goal of project is to appropriate basic living needs from a place of abundance to a place of need and promoting child education. People can donate any kind of old/waste household items in good condition as clothes, books, toys, stationary, computers, electronic appliances, utensils etc. in our collections centres across Mumbai. These items will be collected, sorted, repaired, sewed, packed, transported and distributed in poor and needy people in rural areas & urban slums throughout India to promote child education in underprivileged class of society.


2. Child Education- Ek Zaroorat

Child Education- Ek Zaroorat is an initiative with objective of appropriate basic educational help from a place of abundance to a place of need and sending underprivileged children school and supporting their basic educational needs. We support to provide basic educational materials as books, stationary, bags, school dresses, tuition fees and other educational needs to underprivileged children and have taken a small step towards our goal to adopt 1000 children and to achieve this milestone we need your valuable support. Your small effort can result in a big leap of difference to shape the better future and a beautiful life of a child.

3. Go GREEN Kids
“An innovative effort to save Mother Nature”

Go GREEN Kids: is an innovative free national environmental reverse/ retrograde educational initiative to Save Mother Earth, where school and children will go green in daily life, be more respectful to nature and contribute towards a Greener life for all, through our free environment education, campaigns, workshops, presentations, tree plantation & clean-up drives and lots of other activities. And will inspire parents, elders, teachers and friends for the same.

As of now, Go GREEN Kids has the support of more than 50 lakhs plus students in various schools across India and counting….

4. Green Youth, Green India

Green Youth, Green India previously known as Green Youth, Green Mumbai. As everyone knows we are world’s young country having largest pool of youth who have capacity and potential to transform India in the next super power. We firmly believe our young and innovative generation is going to play key role and lead the world in future…. this thought in mind was the inception of Green Youth, Green India. We had started with just few colleges and in less than two years we have our presences in more than 200 colleges and universities festivals across India.

Green Youth, Green India provides a common platform and involve youths in social and environmental causes & activities and make them understand the importance of Environment and how the power of youth and togetherness can contribute and bring positive change in our society and Mother Nature. Here youth and colleges can show case their green ideas, thoughts, social leadership, innovation, technology and how they can positively transform environment and society.

5. Plant a Tree, Plant a New Life….And we will do it for You

We conduct tree plantation drive throughout the year within the city as in Schools, Colleges, Housing Societies, open grounds, barren lands, corporate parks and such any other available spaces. Our planted plants survival rate is more than 90 %. We humbly invite individuals and corporate to come forward to contribute and donate us. Rs. 100 cost for one sapling and we will plant it in your behalf.

7.Go GREEN Ganesha
A fight against harmful plaster of paris (PoP) Ganesha idols.

Our goal is to save marine lives and environment by adopting eco-friendly Ganesha Idols. We do free awareness campaigns, clay Ganesha making workshop, and other solution oriented activities in schools, colleges, malls and housing societies.
