Green Ashiyana Island Resort

Green Ashiyana Island Resort is situated on the island of Uma Tumoni, Biswanath Ghat, Also called popularly as Gupta Kashi. The most popular of these legendary accounts would have us believe that in the time of remote antiquity, Banasura, the king of Asuras ( Demons ), Obsessed by the idea of having a second Kashi ( Varanasi ) which would perpetuate his name, made of the collection of the ten million phalli ( Siva Linga). The gods, alarmed the prospects of three being the second Kashi, asked Indra, the lord of heaven, to foil Bana’s attempt. Indra has stolen one of the phalli with the result that Bana’s projected Kasi, that is, Vishwanath ( Biswanath), fell short of one Phalli ( Siva Linga ).

To Compound the mischief, Two Sages, Kumud and Kaustuv, Pronounced on Bena a curse owing meditation to the effect that his contemplated Kasi would remain forever hidden. And so it remains up to this day.
