Gram Vikas Residential School, Kankia

Gram Vikas Residential school, Kankia is a model for formal education of both boys and girls from Class III to Class X. This is, especially, true for Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste children though there are a few students here who belong to General Castes. There are 550+ students are studying here. Most of the students come from the backward communities in Ganjam, Gajapati and Kalahandi districts. The patience, devotion, and supportive environment created by the teachers here for their wards are remarkable despite the many challenges the school faces.

Gram Vikas Residential School has been established in 1982 with the vision of providing effective education at an affordable price to the masses. We aim at creating rational minds and empowering them with the skills required to earn their livelihood and live a dignified life.
