Government P.G. College,Dhaulpur "राजकीय स्नातकोत्तर महाविद्यालय,धौलपुर"

Dholpur is the eastern most district of Rajasthan, situated near the perennially flowing Chambal river. It is present in the mid way of two big cities Agra and Gwalior.

Govt. P.G. College is the only college for the enhancement of higher education in Dholpur district. It was founded in 1961 at the Tiwari Bagh Campus. At the beginning, only the graduation classes in Art’s and Commerce were available here. At that time the students had to join either.

Agra University, Agra or the Jiwaji University Gwalior to pursue higher studies. Gradually, in 1967, graduation course in science in 1974, graduation course in Law in 1984, M.A. in History and in 1989 M.A. in Economics were introduced. Under the SFS (Self Financing Scheme) since in the year 2009 M.Sc. in Chemistry , M.A. Political Science, Geography, Hindi and keeping in view the concept of modernization and professionalization, B.B.A. and B.C.A. course were introduced under Self Financing Scheme.

The college has been making endeavor to bring about excellence in educational and co-circular activities under the guidance and directions of the experienced Principal, Vice-principal & the lecturers.

In order to draw the students to pursue higher studies through distance education, centers of IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University)and VMOU (Vardhman Mahaveer Open University, Kota) have been opened in which U.G. & P.G. courses are being taught the regular teaching of various subjects, there are about 47 sanctioned posts for lecturers. Of all the lecturers in the college, 24 have the degree of Ph.D. For the enhancement of extra curricular activities, there is a physical education teacher who train the students in various indoor ,and outdoor games. The students are also prepared to participate in games and athletic competitions at the State and National levels.

At present there are more than 2000 enrolled students for various UG and PG courses in the college.

The college is making all possible efforts to take the curricular and co-curricular activities to a new height . To fulfill its commitment a well furnished staff room, ventilated and well maintained class rooms, clean and cold drinking water for staff and students, girls common room with all basic facilities for girl students and for seminars and conference two auditorium namely Leela Tripathy auditorium and Vivekanand Auditorium are present. The construction for a library with all modern facilities is under progress. At present a well stocked library is functioning in the old building in which more than fifty thousand books and many magazines and Journals are available for the benefit of the students.

To keep the students in touch of recent research and development, the college also provides facilities of internet to the enrolled students.

According to the direction of State Government and Lingdoh committee in session of 2011-12 election of Union was held in which President, Vice-president etc. were elected.
