Located at one of the most strategic locations on Gurgaon-Mehraulli road in the heart of IT hub of India, Govt. College, Sector-14, Gurgaon is one of the most prestigious and premiere institutions of Haryana. This is incidentally not only the largest Girls College of the state but also the biggest college where 142 posts of teachers are sanctioned, which is by far the maximum in the state.Not only in Haryana, Government College, Sector-14, Gurgaon is one of the most reputed college in Northern India especially NCR region. It has been declared as “College of Excellence” by the Haryana Government.

Government College, Sector-14, Gurgaon has a unique distinction that it’s foundation was laid down by the First Prime Minister of India Pt. JawaharLal Nehru in 1959. The College was worthy blessed by the benign presence of the First President of India Dr. Rajender Prasad on its first convocation. The first women Prime Minister of India, the Iron Lady Smt. Indira Gandhi also graced this college by her visit. Among other significant personalities that visited this college was GianiZail Singh, fifth President of India.

Government College, Sector-14, Gurgaon is merely at a distance of 0.5 KMs from main bus stand of Gurgaon and one KM from Gurgaon-Delhi expressway (Delhi-Jaipur National Highway no 8). Moreove it is just 10 KMs away from Indira Gandhi International Airport. The college is well covered by local bus service from various important destinations in Gurgaon including bus stand, railway station, metro station etc.

College campus has a nice ambience of greenery, immaculate lawns and a beautiful well maintained campus sprawling in 32 acres of most precious land. College has four girls hostel named after famous Indian rivers in Ganga, Narmada, Kaveri and Saryu. Besides all the infrastructural modern facilities, the college has become a byword of excellence, intellectual and academic starving, vibrant extra-curricular activities and a wide range of sports activities like Chess, Archery, Basketball, Football, Judo, Cricket, Badminton and Athletics to nurture and create new future talent among the young girls of the region. These young girls have been bringing laurels to the college in form of Trophies and Medals, be it Academics, Music, Cultural or Sports activities.

Govt. College, Sec-14, Gurgaon is presently offering various degree course including B.Sc, B.Com, BA, BCA and post graduate courses like MCA, M.Com, M.Sc(Comp Sc) etc. This college is owned by the Haryana Government and it is managed by the Higher Education Haryana with funds coming from a number of sources including State Government, UGC etc. It being a Govt. College, the Government is the only stakeholder. Academic programs are guided by the University. The staff is appointed by the Haryana Govt. through its agencies like HPSC, SSC etc. A proper reservation policy framed by the Govt. of Haryana is followed during the recruitment. This college is primarily a girls college where male students are allowed in M.A.(Music) classes only.

Here the students are put on the path of attaining excellence in all fields: academic, cultural, sports and athletics, to make them self-reliant and confident to face the outside world.
