GHSS Kumbla

കുമ്പള നഗരത്തിന്റെ ഹൃദയഭാഗത്തായി സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു ഹയര്‍ സെക്കന്ററി സ്കൂള്‍ വിദ്യാലയമാണ് ഗവണ്മെ്ന്റ്റ് ഹയര്‍ സെക്കണ്ടറി സ്കൂള്‍ കുമ്പള . 1958-ല്‍ സ്ഥാപിച്ച ഈ വിദ്യാലയം കാസറഗോഡ് ജില്ലയിലെ ഏറ്റവും പഴക്കമേറിയ വിദ്യാലയങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ്.യക്ഷഗാന സ്ഥാപകന്‍ പാര്ഥിംസുബ്ബന്റെ ‍ജന്മദേെശം

ചരിത്രം
1958 മെയില്‍ ആണ് വിദ്യാലയം സ്ഥാപിച്ചത്. Matti Radhakrishna Rao ആദ്യ പ്രധാന അദ്ധ്യാപകന്‍. 1992- ല്‍ വിദ്യാലയത്തിലെ ഹയര്‍ സെക്കണ്ടറി വിഭാഗം പ്രവര്ത്തനനമാരംഭിച്ചു.

ഭൗതികസൗകര്യങ്ങള്‍
നാല് ഏക്കര്‍ ഭൂമിയിലാണ് വിദ്യാലയം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഹൈസ്കൂളിന് 10 കെട്ടിടങ്ങളിലായി 41 ക്ലാസ് മുറികളും ഹയര്‍ സെക്കണ്ടറിക്ക് 3 കെട്ടിടത്തിലായി 6 ക്ലാസ് മുറികളുമുണ്ട്. അതിവിശാലമായ ഒരു കളിസ്ഥലം വിദ്യാലയത്തിനുണ്ട്.

ഹൈസ്കൂളിനും ഹയര്സെിക്കണ്ടറിക്കും വെവ്വേറെ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടര്‍ ലാബുകളുണ്ട്. രണ്ട് ലാബുകളിലുമായി ഏകദേശം അമ്പതോളം കമ്പ്യൂട്ടറുകളുണ്ട്. രണ്ട് ലാബുകളിലും ബ്രോഡ്ബാന്റ് ഇന്റര്നെോറ്റ് സൗകര്യം ലഭ്യമാണ്.

Kumbla(Malayalam:കുംബള), Tulu:ಕುಂಬಳೆ) locally spelled as Kumble or Kumbala, is a small town located 11 km north of Kasaragod town, in Kasaragod District, Kerala. It is located at the mouth of a lagoon formed by the Shiriya river.

Recorded History and Religion
Kumbla was once the seat of the Kumbla Kings, who ruled the southern part of Tuluva Kingdom. It was a small port in ancient times. In the 16th century A.D. (1514), Duarte Borbosa, the Portuguese traveller, visited Kumbala and he had recorded that he had found people exporting rice to the Maldives in exchange of coir. When Tippu Sultan captured Mangalore, the Kumble Raja fled to Thalassery; but he returned in 1799 and after an unsuccessful fight for independence, submitted to the British Empire and accepted a small pension of Rs. 11,788 per annum in 1804. Parthishubha, the great Yakshagana exponent, known as Father of Yakshagana was born here in the 18th century.

Transport
GHSS Kumbla is situated near on NH-17. Daily minute by minute bus service connect Kumbl to Kasaragodu and Mangalore.
There is also a railway station in Kumbla. Three express trains and all passenger trains on that route halt there.
