Gallery Sanskriti’s journey into the world of colours and canvas
began in 1990 in a small studio in Kolkata. Today, our sprawling
5,000 sq. feet Gallery in Kolkata provides the perfect setting for
artists and art-lovers to cherish the world of Contemporary Art.
In course of time, we created a haven for creative minds, in the
rustic and serene environment of the culturally rooted town of Maihar
in Madhya Pradesh, India. Far from the madding crowd, our art campus added a
new dimension to the gallery’s existence.
23 years hence, we tread on the road less traveled. Three years back,
we set up Sanskriti Ceramics, a state of the art ceramic centre in Maihar.
More recently a metal casting unit has been set up as well. Last year we
set foot on yet another trail in art. We have introduced a Residency Programme
at Maihar, where artists will be free to work in stone, metal and ceramics.
We have also started the country’s first private Open Air Sculpture Gallery
which unfolds a soothing sight to the eyes of the weary traveler, as monumental
stone and ceramic sculptures appear alongside the fields on the Maihar-Satna Highway.
