Established in 1952 as a small entrepreneurial group with a turnover of Rs.10,000, today EVM Group has gone on to become one of the most established networks of diverse companies. Right from our humble beginning through the hard work of over six decades, EVM has dared to dream big and dominate various business sectors while keeping with our primacies to maintain a customer-focused, value-based business capable of rising up to new challenges.
When the esteemed Mr E.V. Mathai established EVM Group as a modest venture dabbling in the market by selling spices, its current flamboyant standing in Indian entrepreneurial ladder must have seemed implausible. However his unwavering vision, tireless toil and altruistic leadership has unanimously led EVM to a position of owning about eighteen companies, including partnerships and limited ownerships.

Promoting tourism by running 3-star hotels and luxury resorts in popular spots. For example, Hill View in Munnar, Mountain Club Resorts at Chinnakanal, Isola-Di Coco Beach Resort at Poovar (in Thiruvananthapuram) and hotels at Adimali and Kothamangalam.

Although our leader and the founder of our group, the magnanimous Mr E.V. Mathai passed away on October 1999, his dreams are still revered and carried on by his six sons who head various business divisions of the Group with the same dignity and passion as he did. His eldest son E.M. Johny was the first to join what is now a family business, after completing his Masters in Commerce in the 60s.
United by their drive to protect and push EVM forward, these worthy sons are committed to delivering services in keeping with the evolving aspirations of customers, partners and associates. The entertainment sector is headed by the industry knowledgeable Mr Saju Johny, while the passionate Mr Sabu Johny is in charge of automotive industry. Erudite Mr Martin Johny knows all there is to know about Honda motorcycles, his area of expertise. E.J. Sony, benevolent and wise has sapped the hospitality industry in Kerala.

Mr. Sabu Johny is the soul of the entrepreneurship and demonstrates the rare ability to identify business opportunities even in obscure situations. He is especially famous for his tactics in driving businesses to thrive even during periods of technological and market transitions. His reputation as a highly successful businessman, who has led every team and position he managed to undeniable success precedes him. As Managing Director of EVM Groups, Mr.Sabu Johny is responsible for the precision of our products, the accomplishment of our strategic business initiatives, excellence in our sales organizations and the brilliance in our various corporate functions.

Director’s message

When my grandfather started this company, he had one goal: to provide high quality services and products to our clients. As I saw his reverie grow from a myth to one strong reality, whose presence could no longer be ignored, the need to someday be part of it and fuel its growth also rose. Even during those initial obscure plans to join EVM, I knew that this business is running on customer satisfaction.
Over these six decades of growth and evolution, the necessary quotient in all our businesses are content clients, whatever be the industry. Being a family business, all brothers have gotten a front-row seat to how our father kept the clientele happy. We try to duplicate his work ethics while incorporating ever-changing developments in our approach to running the business and this has proven to be a foolproof method.

Our customer care services include 24X7 RSA, pick up and drop off of relevant services, constantly keeping in touch with the customers and customer training programs. VG-TAP is another initiative towards social responsibility by EVM with the support of parent company to provide very latest training to the scholars of Govt. ITI at Kalamassery. We are spending about 1 crore rupees per year to train the new generation of Kerala about Automobile industries. We also feel obligated to advance our business in a manner that does not cause inconvenience to others and we tend to be environment / people-friendly.
